2009 Workshop – Time to Shine

Sales of sunglasses in travel retail could double in the next five years, according to ambitious plans from Luxottica.

The ‘Time to Shine’ sunglasses workshop, aimed to bring together the industry’s leading travel retailers and eyewear suppliers and to show that by implementing a partnership approach, major strides could be made. During the workshop it was boldly stated that: “We want to double the size of the category in the next five years – regardless of traffic evolution.” The first steps were taken towards what would prove a very successful journey.
